ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Los Angeles I Remote

 

Role

As an Account Manager for Total Accounting and Bookkeeping Solutions (“TAABS”), you are the key relationship manager maintaining and building client relationships while serving as their trusted advisor. You are instrumental in helping clients understand their financial numbers to drive strategic business decisions. The Account Manager mentors a talented team of Accounting Technicians and oversees the monthly financial close process and other ad-hoc projects. You make a critical impact on your client’s financial success working with dynamic and growing businesses in the apparel, consumer goods, entertainment, professional services and real estate industries.

Job Responsibilities:

This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced managerial accountant who is seeking to have a bigger impact on small and mid-sized businesses and serves as a subject matter expert to their clients. They are passionate in seeing their clients succeed while enjoying a flexible work environment with strong mentorship, training and support.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of Accounting Technicians to provide monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close and reporting to our small and mid-sized business clients

  • Use GAAP principles to monitor compliance, accounting policies and procedures

  • Work with our cross functional team in cleanup projects, implementation and accounting process development

  • Be a subject matter expert, developing reporting solutions including KPIs, budgets and forecasts

  • Serve as a partner with sales leadership to identify areas of growth within the current portfolio

  • Coach and support junior accounting staff

  • Leverage your position as a trusted advisor to the client to identify and utilize technologies to improve internal and clients’ accounting processes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 3 – 5 years of accounting experience

  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive with strong project management and execution experience

  • Thrives on solving problems and has a growth mindset

  • Must be team orientated and enjoys helping teammates grow

  • Enthusiastic in learning new technology

  • Extensive QuickBooks experience, including 3rd party apps (Shopify, A2X, etc.)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Public accounting or consulting experience is a plus

  • Experience supporting small and medium sized companies or in-house accounting experience

  • Working experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, etc.)

  • Financial analytics and modeling experience

  • The ideal candidate is located in the Los Angeles area, remote opportunities may be available in AZ, TX, and NV
